I’m a queer writer and creator passionate about community and art. I’ve been writing for a little over 10 years and have stepped into the world as a creative professionally this year after working in non-profit and as a virtual assistant. After this transition, I’m excited to be more hands-on within queer creative spaces and connecting with more of us.
I work with upcoming/transitioning creatives to develop sustainable lives that center their career around their dreams. I have a community called HerGarden for queer creatives to connect both virtually and in person to share experiences and learn from people who see them fully and resonate with their journey. Launching in January, this space will host monthly workshops joined by guest speakers, weekly coworking/networking sessions at local coffee shops and bi-weekly virtual sessions, closing the month with a community event open to the public. As an extension of this space, I run a new program called the Creatives Camp, which is a 4 month process working through mindset, brand identity, creative living and action planning to take creatives from an idea to execution through aligning their vision with their values supported by hands-on workshops and activities, community sessions and resources.

The Creatives Camp ranges between a monthly retainer of $150-$680.

I’m Meredith, a queer Asian American leather worker and former community organizer with a passion for handcrafting beautiful and durable leather goods ranging from wallets to custom harnesses. I draw inspiration from tarot, queer & AAPI culture, D&D, and my two cats. Sustainability is important to me, and I offer repairs and restoration of pre-loved leather goods so that their owners can continue to treasure them rather than send old items to the landfill.

Some favorite examples I’ve done: recreating a wallet for a blind customer who needed the exact same layout as her broken wallet; custom black and purple bag for a disabled 25-year-old’s rollator; body harnesses for trans folks; belts in any size. I also clean and condition leather boots & jackets, repair bag straps, etc. Non-leather: jack-of-all-trades DIY woodworking (coffee tables, etc.); restoration of antique tools; knowledge of youth organizing & economic justice orgs in Boston & MA.
Cost: Sliding scale; generally $20-$50/hour of work. I am willing to work with QTPOC.
Location: New Haven, CT; services from NJ to Boston or by mail/video.

Hello! I’m trying to build a professional writing portfolio. I know I can write well, I just don’t have much other than long-winded introspective posts and poetry to really showcase my skills. I have helped friends with proofreading, editing, résumé creation, cover letters, professional emails, LinkedIn help, counseling teens and young adults about college, life coaching…etc. I love to write, and I have…been through some difficult situations, let’s say. I have life experience in spades. I have resources that I know well within Rochester, and can share knowledge of through personal experience. I would be willing to provide my services/help to anyone in need, in hopes that I could build a professional portfolio, gain experience, gain references, and even letters of recommendation to help with a career change. Let me know if I can help! 🙂
I can do proofreading, editing, résumé creation, cover letters, professional emails, LinkedIn help, counseling teens and young adults about college, life coaching…etc. Anything that involves writing or sharing what I know, really.
Cost: Very negotiable 🙂
Location: South Wedge area of Rochester. Can meet up close by or via Zoom.
